Super Saxophone Series: Brandon Fields

Brandon Fields started playing the piano at age five, violin at eight and was enamored with the alto saxophone by ten.  He began working as a freelance musician as a teenager and moved to the Los Angeles area in 1982 to embrace the inspiring local club and studio scene.

His debut recording, The Other Side of the Story, released in 1986, showcased his multifaceted approach to songwriting and highlighted his exceptional ability to interact with brilliant bandmates. Brandon would go on to release nine more albums under his own name, continuing to evolve as an artist.

Fields' extensive credits as a sideman showcase a rich blend of influences, including Tower of Power, Earth Wind & Fire, Elton John, Quincy Jones, Luther Vandross, Al Jarreau, Robben Ford, Bobby Caldwell, The Rippingtons, Dave Weckl, and many more. In addition to his work with these legendary artists, Brandon has also been featured on several movie soundtracks and earned a Grammy Award for Latin Album of the Year in 2002.

Brandon Fields is a clinician for Selmer Saxophones and Rico Reeds, and he continues to write and record, blending his diverse range of influences into a unique and expressive instrumental style all his own.
